Field Study Student Assistant - Job Description
Approximate Hours per week: 10 (optionally up to 15 during busy weeks)
Position Type: On-Campus/Work Study
Location: Hybrid (on-campus & remote)
Compensation: $15 per hour
Description:
Under the direction of the field study director and supervision by the field study coordinator, research and implement program initiatives, develop and/or enhance program materials such as handbooks, handouts, and web content. Create and manage social media and online promotional materials. Create and edit multimedia such as tutorials and promotional videos. Design and administer surveys, extract data, and generate written reports and summaries. Communicate with Field Study community partners, colleagues, faculty, and students. Other duties as assigned.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student to work closely with the Undergraduate Student Advising and Field Study staff and develop a broad and strong skill set relevant to many future graduate school and career opportunities in Social Ecology-related fields. We are looking for a student who can commit through the end of Spring 2023 (with the possibility of work over the summer sessions).
Qualifications:
Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA
- Junior Standing (90+ units) strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Powerpoint, Word, and Access (preferred)
- Experience navigating Google Drive
- Experience with graphic design software such as Canva
- Familiarity with survey programs such as Qualtrics and Google Forms
- Social media marketing and management knowledge/experience
- Proven written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with working in an office environment
- Ability to work independently and creatively on routine assignments
- Ability to follow through on assignments and seek assistance and clarification when needed
- Ability to accept and grow from constructive criticism
- Access to a secured and reliable internet connection
- Access to a secured and reliable laptop or desk
