Bailiff

Bailiffs, also known as marshals or court officers, are law enforcement officers who maintain order in courtrooms, ensuring the security of the courtroom, enforcing rules and procedures. They also escort judges, jurors, witnesses, and people in custody into and out of the courtroom.

Community Relations Manager

Social and community service managers coordinate and supervise programs and organizations that support public well-being. They direct workers who provide these services to the public by analyzing data to determine the effectiveness of programs, oversee administrative aspects of programs, and work with community members to identify necessary programs and services.

Correctional Officer

Correctional officers guard people in penal institutions and guard those in transit between jail, courtroom, prison, or other points. They enforce rules and keep order within jails or prisons, supervise activities of people in custody and escort and transport people in custody between jail, courtroom, prison, or another point.

Court Clerk (Law)  

A Court Clerk maintains court records and documents, processes legal filings, schedules court proceedings, issues summons and subpoenas and assists judges, and attorneys with case files. They collect fees and fines, provide information to the public about court procedures, and ensure accurate documentation of all court activities.

Crime Scene Investigator (CSI)

A Crime Scene Investigator conducts investigations related to suspected violations of federal, state, or local laws to prevent or solve crimes. They collect and secure physical evidence from crime scenes, observe the activities of suspects, conduct interviews, examine records, and participate in raids and arrests.

Criminologist/Researcher

Cybercrime Investigator

Cybercrime Investigators plan and carry out security measures to protect an organization’s computer networks and systems. They monitor their organization’s networks for security breaches and investigate when one occurs. They investigate computer-related crimes including hacking, identity theft, fraud, cyberstalking, and data breaches.

Detective

Detectives gather, analyze, and report information to clients regarding legal or personal matters. Their services include verifying people’s background checks, finding missing persons, and investigating crimes. FBI Agent (FBI, DEA, ATF, Homeland Security Investigator)  

Sometimes called special agents, FBI agents investigate and pursue criminal cases that violate federal law. They conduct surveillance, interview witnesses and suspects, gather intelligence, execute search warrants, make arrests, analyze evidence, and prepare detailed reports. FBI agents are responsible for crimes against public agencies and may join or take over investigations of certain types of state cases.

Human Resources (HR)  

Human resources specialists recruit, screen and interview job applicants, and place newly hired workers in jobs. They also may handle compensation and benefits, training, and employee relations. They may administer benefits, process payroll, and handle associated questions or problems.

Lawyer/ Legal Assistant/ Paralegal/Judge  

Lawyers advise and represent clients in criminal or civil proceedings and in other legal matters. They communicate with clients, colleagues, judges, and others involved in a case. Lawyers conduct research, interpret laws and present facts and findings relevant to a case on behalf of their clients.

Legal Assistants support lawyers by performing a variety of tasks, such as maintaining and organizing files, conducting legal research, and drafting documents. They typically investigate and gather the facts of the case, call clients, and obtain affidavits and other formal statements that may be used as evidence in court.

Paralegals provide critical support to attorneys by conducting legal research, preparing documents, organizing case files, and assisting with all phases of legal proceedings.
